Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our operation unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may record routine technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- Timestamps for page views
- The referring site, when one is reported
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show, in aggregate, which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers assist with that measurement. A browser can block cookies, though doing so may change how some features behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Stanly County Criminal History does not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. It publishes general directions to the Stanly County Sheriff's Office, the unified North Carolina courts in Stanly County, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the sheriff's local registry interface. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or profiles about third parties, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy, including its retention and sharing choices. Review those terms before sending a query because this policy does not control the provider.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, the sheriff, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy rules apply. Read them before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

Reasonable security practices protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such data is identified, a deletion request may be made.
